Pro Tips for ITB Berlin

I've attended ITB Berlin and many other trade shows, either as an exhibitor or visitor. Here are some strategies and networking tips:

Think beyond the event

Whether you're an exhibitor or buyer, having an impact during big trade shows is getting hard. Start engaging with your audience and building momentum at least 1-2 months before the event -for example with a content strategy on LinkedIn (check out the official ITB Berlin logo and assets for your posts).

Make time for the unexpected

Having a clear, structured agenda and objectives before the trade show starts is key -but don't forget spontaneous interactions!
Some of my best learnings and business leads came from meetings I hadn't even planned, or from unexpected encounters.

Dress Comfortably

First-time visitors often ask me: "What's the dress code at ITB Berlin?". My answer: comfort wins over style!

Don't underestimate the scale of the exhibition grounds: I've walked up to 15km in one day! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and make yourself familiar with the floorplan.

Other Frequently Asked Questions about ITB Berlin

Who's attending ITB Berlin?

Last year, the ITB conference in Berlin hosted 5,800 exhibitors and 100,000 participants from 190 countries! The list of exhibitors includes Tourism Boards, Hotels & Accommodations, Travel companies, Technology providers and startups. Visitors generally include buyers, content creators, students and more.

Is there a networking app included in the standard ITB Berlin ticket?

Yes, the standard Visitor ticket at ITB Berlin includes access to the Match & Meet platform that allows to search people and companies and schedule meetings with them.

Is there free wifi at ITB Berlin?

Yes, there’s a free wifi connection at ITB Berlin -but in my experience, wifi connections at big trade shows are unreliable due to high volumes of people using it. Always have a plan B, like your phone’s hotspot (or paper business cards).

On which days should I visit ITB Berlin?

ITB Berlin this year takes place on 3-5 March 2026. Usually the first two days are the busiest ones, packed with conferences, stand activations and meetings -while the last day is usually quieter. Choosing when to attend really depends on what you're looking for: More action, or a more relaxed atmosphere?
